Nokia 6360 Review

The Nokia 6360 works on the AMPS/ TDMA networks only. It weighs about 120 gms which is not the problem since the features more then make up for the slightly heavy weight. However, what needs improvement are the looks. the phone looks outdated and lower end in spite of the fact that it is not so. May be a color panel change would liven up things. Though it is difficult to find accessories such as panels etc, for the 6360 ; they are available and would be worth the time & money spent looking for. You can buy this phone using a very cheap price from e2Save.com if you have an e2save coupon code.
The phone is of block form and is powered by a Li-Ion battery giving a superb talk time of 5.20 hours and a standby of 336 hours. The antenna as always is internal. RF is great and clarity is superb. No problems such as echoing or voice cutting. Navigation through the menus is simple and based on using the two navigation keys provided for the purpose. The menu is very user friendly and easy to understand / operate. Again cheers to the Nokia team for continually bringing out high quality products. Contacts in the industry reveal that this phone has one of the lowest return rates and one of the few products, which don't give errors to the users.

The phonebook has a large capacity of 500 contacts along with support for storing multiple numbers (maximum five numbers) for each contact. The user also gets the option of selecting his ringing call alert from 20 ringtones which are preset. Since the 6360 has a composer (allowing creation of ringtones) , PC Suite (allowing downloads from computer). Of course, the option of downloading from the net is always there. This data capable phone can support transfers of up to 9.6 kbps; not a lot now but still enough for low-end data transfers. The phone has been equipped with an Infrared port allowing PC Synchronization. PC Sync makes it possible to synchronize the phonebook, calendar as well as the To-Do list. Standard functions such as the Calculator (with currency converter) , Alarm (with snooze feature) and a Calendar (which can record 500 events) have been included.

Apart from support for 2 way messaging, the 6360 also allows EMS (picture messaging). For predictive text input, the T9 technology has been thrown in. Text message templates, which can store commonly, sent messages are also present. Totally ten such templates can be stored. Voice based functions such as voice dialing (20 entries); voice memo (3 minutes total) and voice commands have all been included. Voice commands means that the user can vocally command the handset to perform functions. Maximum five such commands can be stored. Conversations can also be recorded; again there is a maximum limit of storing only up to three minutes. Even though Classic Nokia games such as Snake II, Space Impact etc have been included; more can be downloaded since the 6360 is WAP capable. Obviously, the phone supports wireless internet and is WAP capable as mentioned. Besides Nokia have included a large number of languages, any of which the user may select. These include English, Chinese, Hebrew, Russian, Portuguese, Arabic, Spanish and French.

A really good choice if one requires a decent handset for TDMA networks. Does not have the cutting edge in features but is more then enough for the average user. Could do with improvement in the looks department though.
